Company Means Extra Treats!

My Mom and Gram are visiting us in the "big city," and after having only seen Porter in the environment of the farm at home (where he goes totally nuts being Full-On Farm/Pond/Horse-Chasin' Dog for the entirety of his visit), are totally amazed that he is actually a sane and well-behaved house pet.

They spent an enjoyable afternoon playing "hide and seek" with our talented boy, making him STAY while they hid his ball, then releasing him to scramble around and sniff it out. He may have a future in the DEA after all. (Or maybe we should just try teaching him this trick with my car keys and cell phone!)

COUSIN!

My sister of the large green eyes got a PUPPY! His name is Carll. (After this guy.) Carll is a pound pup that she located on PetFinder. (Jodie is a very good person.) He was neutered this morning (in Georgia, they apparently cannot leave the shelter unaltered) and has had a rough day. Still, it is not interfering with the clearly overpowering power of his powerful *cute*.

Carll is all: What? I'm up in ur lap, chillin' and shiz.

(Carll looks to be part Akita. Carll has Attitude. Any dog who spells his name with an extra "L" automatically has spunk.)

In this one, he says: Ah, aruff!


And here, he says: You may hold my paws, but do not smooch. We've only just met.

Porter's been really busy lately. Yesterday, he went to the dog park, swimming, and then running with his Uncle Jake (new roommie!). He says if we let him learn to ride a bike, he'll do a triathlon. We're on our way to the dog park again. Happy weekend!

Greatest Weekend, EVER!

We all went to the beach for Memorial Day, and it was the greatest vacation Porter's ever had. We went once before, way back in February, but it was so cold, and Porter was very little. This time, the gang was all there: Aunt Jodie (below, with Porter gahming his Old Navy bone), the grandparents, Kt's Grammy, and of course, Andy and Dixie, his doggie cousins. Andy (a HUGE German Shepherd) was happy to see him again. Dixie (a cantankerous jack russell/rat terrier) at least tolerated his presence this time around.

Porter was a very charismatic and charming house guest. Beach pics in the next post! (He LOVED the beach.)
