Home to South Georgia!

Porter and Uncle Andy on High Alert!

Porter by the pond (he was mostly IN the pond).

Porter was really thrilled about all the construction on my parents' new house.

Tell me he's not going to have Labrador dreams about this for years to come...

Side view. He's getting to be a bruiser!

Arrivederci!

This is Porter's I'm-a-ridin'-in-the-car, a-goin'-on-a-trip face. You can't tell, but I'm making this face right now. I'll be in Italy for two weeks! (Although, I'm not exactly taking a car the whole way. I just didn't have any pictures of Porter on a Plane - slightly less disastrous than Snakes on a Plane - yet.) Please keep Porter and B in your thoughts as they live it up attempt to survive without me.

Greatest Weekend, EVER!

We all went to the beach for Memorial Day, and it was the greatest vacation Porter's ever had. We went once before, way back in February, but it was so cold, and Porter was very little. This time, the gang was all there: Aunt Jodie (below, with Porter gahming his Old Navy bone), the grandparents, Kt's Grammy, and of course, Andy and Dixie, his doggie cousins. Andy (a HUGE German Shepherd) was happy to see him again. Dixie (a cantankerous jack russell/rat terrier) at least tolerated his presence this time around.

Porter was a very charismatic and charming house guest. Beach pics in the next post! (He LOVED the beach.)

Helping!

In an attempt to make sure we didn't forget any of his belongings, Porter helpfully drug them all into the living room just prior to departure...

Note on the trip: Porter spent three nights and two days at my parents' and grandmother's beach houses. He did not have a single accident inside, did not chew on a thing (other than his own toys), and actually asked us to go out by scratching on the appropriate doors at two totally new places. He had never been in the water before, and plunged right in to both the bay and the ocean the first times (in 40 degree weather). He met and charmed my parents' 100+ lb., somewhat anti-social German Shepherd, and willingly performed his best tricks (sit and an emphatic down) in front of a crowd of new people and two other dogs. He also rode 8 hours in the car there and 8 hours back, napping or quietly amusing himself in the backseat. He was a super, duper, absolutely perfect puppy (and he's not even 11 weeks yet!).

Beach Weekend!

Porter wanted to be sure that we remembered, among other things, to pack the Lab.
