Happy Birthday Boy

Porter turned one year old yesterday. There have been many days along the way that I thought we might not make it to yesterday, but now I have concluded beyond a shadow of a doubt that Porter is made out of some sort of new-age polymer and has a digestive system like a wood chipper. Here he is, healthy and happy, in front of the Christmas tree. He weighed 93 pounds yesterday.


This is what Porter looked like one year and one day ago. He weighed about 4 pounds.

He's a Yankee Doodle Dandy

B's neighbors get a little carried away in the patriotic yard decoration department. I couldn't resist grabbing a shot of Porter looking all USO poster-ready.

He was SUPER about the fireworks, which is excellent news if we ever plan to use him as a hunting dog. He didn't mind the loud noises one bit, and was actually pretty happy about all the booms and flashes. Hooray! Happy Fourth!
