Back in Black (Lab, that is)

Sorry for the lull in posting. It's very good to be home. Portah met at the airport and we had a short-term parking garage reunion. I am pretty sure he remembered who I was because he rode in my lap all the way home, but then, he could have also just been trying to position himself in front of the air vent.

We had our first big weekend back in the swing of things with a trip to the dog park and the swimmin' hole this morning. Porter met a big German Shepherd named Bear. Bear and Porter have the same favorite game: Let's Both Hold This Stick And Run Around! They were very funny, and we hope we run into Bear again.

Porter demonstrating his utter focus and determination - the Please Throw That Stick, Daddy pose.

Here's Bear!

Porter temporarily gains control of the stick, but Bear is not far behind.

Porter giving Bear the Crazy Eyes: Let-go-a-my-stick-or-else!

Very beautiful Bear. Bear's dad, Mike, rescued Bear from a shelter when he was 6 months old. I think that they both got really lucky!

PS - Porter now weighs 72 lbs. Bear is 2 1/2. Our pup is getting BIG.

Like a Duck to... You Know

Porter's first water retrieve. He went STRAIGHT in... enthusiastically.
Lookah!
So proud!
So wet and dirty!
Later (and post-bath!)... so overly confident that he's taunting Uncle Andy with his tasty rawhide.

Saturday, In the Park

Fetchin' a stick, fetchin' a stick.
I really, really have some concerns about this.
The slide is clearly more dignified than that swing.
