Out of Juice
Has anyone seen my camera battery charger? I knew I had it at Christmas . . . so it's either in a suitcase, in South Georgia, South Florida, Atlanta, or somewhere in between.
Sorry, everyone! No new pics until I locate it, or some amazing benefactor buys me one of these.
Until then, I realized we're coming up on the one year anniversary of the day that we brought Porter home. Here are some pictures from the "archives."

That girl up there - the one looking all full of puppy love - has no idea what she's in for. (But even if I could go back and tell her, she'd probably still be smiling like that. He's a very good little guy . . . mostly.)

Cupcakes and Head Injuries
Porter has been immortalized in frosting, thanks to the artistic stylings of my (not-normally-caught-dead-decorating-cupcakes) boyfriend:

Meanwhile, while attempting to master the elusive "roll over," Porter and I "butted heads" rather literally. His head definitely won. This is me seeking solace in frozen cranberries. Upon discovering my injury, B immediately ran from the room and returned with . . . the camera. What a guy. :)

If this knot gets much bigger, I'm going to have to name it Doug.

Take Portah Out to the Ballgame...
Friday, May 11, 2007
Sorry!
Porter is just fine, despite the lack of pictures. We've had a very fun and busy week. He went to his first softball practice on Wednesday, and was an AWESOME boy, being content to hang out in the dugout with very minimal fuss and tons of happy lab looks and wags. Everyone loved him, and I think he earned a spot as Team Mascot.
I was browsing old photos (having no new ones to report) and found this one:

I really can't believe he was ever that tiny.
Porter met his pool this week. It's one of those blue plastic kiddie pools, and I really wish I can describe to you how much he loves it. I think he would stick his entire head under water if it was deep enough. He loves to splash around and bring his toys in to the pool, hold them under with his paws, and go after them. (He invented that game all by himself. He was playing in the pool when he suddenly jumped out and ran up onto the porch. He came trotting back with his tennis ball and promptly plunked it in the pool and jumped in after it, pouncing it repeatedly and trying to hold it under. Then, he dropped the ball outside of the pool so that it rolled away on the carport, watched for a minute, then charged after it and repeated the entire process.)

But now that he has his own pool, he looks like this a lot.

More Eating of the Cuteness
Porter's all, "GAHM!" and Murphy's all, "OWW!" and Maggie's all, "YIKES," and I'm all, "No, Porter, sweetie, quit that, OK now, get Murph's head out of your... OK THAT'S ENOUGH NO NO NO CUT IT OUT YOU ROTTEN DOG!"

And if it's not about him, Porter just doesn't give a damn.

Thanks to Trish (Murph and Maggie's mom) for the photos, and a seldom-seen shot of me and Portah in the same frame, even if he is laying there giving me the middle paw because I'm not doing a good job of hiding my love for the little M&Ms.
